We always have access to large stocks of reclaimed bricks.

The most frequently stocked bricks are imperial facing, wirecut, handmade and commons.

A large selection of special bricks such as coping, bullnose, cant and airbricks can also be sourced.

Salt Glazed Bricks

350 salt glazed bricks.

These were reclaimed from a brick built feature line in the Robinsons factories Chesterfield.
They are all free of mortar, palleted and ready to go.

Exact sizes are 3 1/4" (79mm) x 9"(228mm) x 4 1/2 (114mm).

Some do have a painted orange face but its on the glazed side of the brick so could be removed.

We don't see many of this type of brick and could be used to make an interesting feature.

Red Pressed Bricks

25-30,000 3 1/8"(80mm) pressed red bricks.

These have all been salvaged from the one site and are cleaned and palleted in 400's ready to leave the yard.

All the bricks are pressed with the same the same manufacturing mark in that of "clay x"

Brindle Wire Cut Bricks

A large batch of reclaimed 2 7/8" reclaimed wirecut bricks reclaimed from 80 properties.

This job is ongoing with 20,000 in the yard today.

These are a multi brindle in colour and are a good hard wirecut brick.

Hand Made Multi-Red Bricks

These are an excellent batch of solid reusable handmade bricks reclaimed from the same large factory.

Yellow Stocks

Predominately used within the London area, mass produced at Smead Dean Brickworks, Kent in the early 1900's, can also be found on the out-skirts in smaller numbers.

A Yellow Brick sometimes with a tinge of black fleck which is ash in the clay turning black when fired.

Colours do vary slightly from a bright canary yellow to a darker tanny shade of yellow.

Metric Yellow

Predominately used within the London area and in smaller numbers on the outskirts, they have the same appearance and texture as yellow stocks, colours approximately 80% yellow & 20% red within the pack.

Similar texture to the other stock bricks.

Colours approximately 50% red & 50% purple/mauve often with a black fleck.

Staffordshire Blue

Found in various parts of the country.

A very hard engineering brick, often used close to railways due to its strength i.e. railway platforms, bridges & viaducts, also used as feature bricks i.e. above windows & doorways.

A smooth faced brick. Colours very dark blue sometimes bordering black.

Wire-Cuts

Found in various parts of the country, traditionally these bricks were cut from large blocks of clay with wire prior to firing in kilns and leaves a similar effect when cheese is cut with wire.

A very hard dense brick, smooth faced, solid with no frog.

A class B engineering brick often used as paviors. Colours vary from orangey to dark red.

Pressed Reds

Found in various parts of the country.

A very hard dense brick, smooth faced & shallow frog.

A class B engineering brick often used for face work. Colours vary from orangey to dark red. .

Soft Reds (Rubbers)

Found all over England, produced at various brickworks up & down the country.

Often used for facework and feature work i.e. above and around windows and doorways.

A soft textured brick, can be smooth faced or with slight creasing on the face.

Colours vary from orange to dark red. Sometimes known as Red Rubbers due to the ability to rub brick by hand into ornate shape.

Luton Grey

Found in various parts of the country. Usually in old brick barns & tudor style buildings, can be several hundred years old.

A soft textured handmade brick. These bricks have an unusual 2" face.

Colours vary from orange to dark red.

Hand Made Bricks

We have 4,000 x 3" hand made bricks in stock.

As these are hand made bricks, sizes do vary between 2 ¾" and 3 ¼".

These bricks are mortar free and pre-palleted in batches of 400.
